Meet Our Donors
William and Grace Foster
After a lifetime of service to our country and a passion for improving healthcare for future generations, the Mercy Foundation became the gracious recipient of a $225,000 estate gift from William and Grace Foster in May of 2019.
William "Bill" Foster, born in 1927, enjoyed his career in the U.S. Airforce, holding positions as a Flying Crew member, Staff Officer, and later an Organizational Commander. He met his wife Grace at a Block Dance for World War II Veterans and they were married in March of 1947.
Bill and Grace loved traveling and moving during Bill's service in the Air Force. Upon his retirement, Bill became active in the Masons, the International Legion of Honor, and Shriners Hospital for Children. The couple spent 17 years traveling to and visiting various Shriners Hospitals all over North America.
In their spare time, the couple enjoyed many different activities. Bill enjoyed golfing as much as possible and enjoyed listening to Grace play the piano and watching her paint. Grace was also involved in church choirs and chorals and was a member of the Merced College Choral for 35 years.
The Mercy Foundation is grateful for the legacy and passion for high-quality healthcare that the Fosters have left behind.
